Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, a very special youth filmmaking project has relocated to the northeast UK - kidsmoviefest. This third collaboration between GCP and Kidsmoviefest’s Svitlana Pohasiy involved a four month online cinema school introducing documentary self-portraiture to young people from Kherson who continue their daily lives amidst continuous shelling and drone attacks. Despite constant power cuts, no internet, and sitting in bomb shelters during disturbances, all of our film school members made documentaries about their lives.Three films shortlisted at Wicked Wales International Youth Film Festival, and two films won in the categories 6-12yrs and 24hr film.
