Working with Kidskabin Youth Project, GCP organised a Christmas cinemmaking event in the semi-circle of Hexham Avenue and Birch Terrace in Walker, Newcastle. We set up fairy fights in the small copse of trees, built a fire where volunteers cooked sausages. Jake the youthworker's mum made a legendary soup, while the kids prepared popcorn and handed out free hot chocolate. Free for anyone to attend, residents of the street dropped by and stayed for abstract 1950s animations, classic Christmas cartoons and finally a very special community karaoke session for the kids.
